Bruce Harold Clifton, 85, of Mouth Dora, Fla., formerly of Sioux City, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, Jan. 12, 2004.

Services will be noon Friday in the chapel of the Woodlawn Funeral Home in Orlando, Fla., with militarry rites. The Rev. Richard Gantz will be officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Bruce was born Aug. 6, 1918, in Sioux City, the son of Guy H. and Henrietta (Kroonemeyer) Clifton. He graduated from Central High School in 1936. On Aug. 13, 1939, he married Ruth E. Tiller, the daughter of Egii and Anna (Nash) Tiller, in South Sioux City. He served as a bomber pilot during World War II and was awarded th Purple Heart Medal.

The couple resided in Sioux City until moving to Glenshaw, Pa. in 1961. They moved to Orlando, Fla. in 1968 and to Mount Dora in 1994. He was employed as a machine tool salesman.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Mount Dora and the Oakland Presbyterian Men's Prayer Breakfast Fellowship. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite Bodies and enjoyed singing with the Shrine Chanters. He also was a member and a former president of the Florida Automotive Boosters Club B-13.

Survivors include three children, Janice and her husband, Charles Newhouse, of Washington, Iowa, Joan Consolver of Orlando, Fla., and Brad Clifton and his wife, Lauren, of Jupiter, Fla.; two brothers, Jack of Fall Brook, Calif., and Duane of Westfield, Iowa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and his, faithful friend, Millie Wilson of Mount Dora.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 57 years, Ruth; and a son-in-law, Ned Consolver.

Memorials maybe directed to Edgewood Children's Ranch, 1451 Edgewood Ranch Road, Olando, Fla. 32835.
