Emil Chriss Claussen, 81, of Bella Vista, Ark., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Bates Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Church of the Nazerene in Bentonville, with John Lightsy officiating. Burial will be in Bentonville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home in Bentonville.

Mr. Claussen was born Feb. 1, 1918, the son of Emil Chriss and Annie (Petersen) Claussen.

He married Leona Edna Brown on Sept. 21, 1940, in Sioux City. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.

He was an operator and instructor at Cal Poly Agriculture College in Pomona, Calif. He moved to the Bella Vista area in 1980, from Chino, Calif.

He was a member of Church of the Nazerene, where he sang in the choir, Moose Lodge in Sioux City and Cilia) Romper Square Dance Club in California. He enjoyed woodworking, loom weaving and fishing.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Milford of Fort Worth, Texas, Douglas of Rupert, Idaho, and Craig of Victorville, Calif.; three Baughters, Gerry Roth of Bella Vista, Marlene Dalahite of Dayton, Texas, and Dixine Wood of Bella Vista; a brother, Melvin of Homer, Neb.; a sister, Luella Idso of Sioux City; 21 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother.

Memorials may be directed to Bentonville Church of the Nazerene Building Fund.
