BATTLE CREEK, Iowa — Julius "Jack" Carl Jepsen, 52, of Battle Creek died Wednesday, Jan. 1, 1993, at his residence of cancer.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the St. John Lutheran Church in Cushing, Iowa, with the Rev. Douglas Opp officiating. Burial will be in Cushing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Barker Funeral Home, in Correctionville, Iowa.

Mr. Jepsen was born May 9, 1944, at the Battle Creek hospital, the son of Julius and Doris (Schable) Jepsen. graduated from Correctionville Public School in 1963. He married Lorraine Hinkhouse on July 2, 1965, in North Sioux City.

He was a life long farmer in Woodbury County, he operated a trucking business and also managed Cushing Fertilizer Inc. In 1994, he retired due to ill health. He enjoyed cooking and the outdoors.

He was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in Cushing.

Survivors include his wife; five sons, Julius Christopher "Chris", John Carl and his wife Kerri, James Craig and his wife Sherri, Jered Cory and his wife Mario, and Joel Curtis; NA grandchildren, Jackie, Kelly, Casey, Trele, Jacie, and Cody Jepsen; his mother; two sisters and their husbands, Sharon and Eldon Albers and LaDonna and Paul Hansen; and a brother, Gary.

He was preceded in death by his father.
