CUSHING, Iowa — Opal Maude Henderson, 88, of Cushing died Monday, June 1, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church in Cushing, with the Rev. Consortia A. Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Cushing City Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, Iowa.

Mrs. Henderson was born Oct. 22, 1909, in Correctionville, the daughter of Armey and Maude Luella (Wright) Anderson. She attended country schools.

She married Henry Robert Henderson on March 26, 1927, in Sioux City. The couple farmed near Cushing for 40 years before moving closer to Cushing. He died Jan. 10, 1987.

She was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and fishing.

Suvivors include a son, Luane H. of Cushing; two daughters, Lavone 0. Lewis of Cushing and Betty L. and her husband, Richard Streeter, of Storm Lake, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a great-grandson; three brothers, Roy, Ray and Roger Anderson; and two sons-in-law, Everett Lewis and Duane Juelfs.

Pallbearers will be Randy, Rick and Ronnie Lewis, Lanny and Kevin Henderson and Dennis Juelfs.
