HORNICK, Iowa Melvin Dwayne Carr, 64, of Hornick died Friday, Jan. 21, 2000, at a Sioux City hospital of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Hornick, Iowa. with the Rev. Terra Amundson officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township, Holly, Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Wood Funeral Chapel in Sloan, Iowa.
Mr. Carr was born April 18, 1935, in Holly Springs, the son of Walter and Margaret Vera (Ware) Carr. He attended school at Hornick. He was employed as a road worker with Woodbury County and retired in the early 1990s due to ill health.
He was a member of the Operators Union in Sioux City.
Survivors include twin sisters, Marian Romine of Onawa, Iowa, and Mary Faust of Nev Brunsville, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Raymond and Merle; and two sisters: Ferne Crichton, and infant sister, Cecelia
