Alice Thompson, 83, of Mission, Texas and formerly of Sloan, Iowa, died Saturday, November 19, 1988 in a nursing home in Mission, Texas.

Mrs. Thompson, the former Alice Olson, was born August 6, 1905, at Albaton, Iowa, daughter of George and Mary Olson. She graduated from Sloan High School in 1924 and married Johnny Carter in 1927. They lived in the Sloan vicinity. In 1965 she married Harland Thompson. They made their home in Council Bluffs and moved to Mission, Texas in 1975.

Mrs. Thompson was a lifelong member of Skein Lutheran Church, rural Sloan.

Survivors include her husband, a grandson Gregory Carter of Omaha, four sisters, Grace Swanson and Carrie Solien both of Onawa, June Hughey of Oxnard, Calif., and Mabel Jacobson of Odebolt; two brothers, G Elliott Olson of Sloan and Robert L Olson of Manteca, Calif., several nieces and nephews; two stepdaughters, Linda Belt of Council Bluffs and Judy Ring of Neola; one stepson, Gary Thompson of Omaha, Nebr. and several step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, James Carter and a brother Harry Olson.

The body was cremated, Memorial services were held Thursday, November 24, 1988 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, Tx. Graveside services will be held in Fairview Twp Cemetery, near Sloan at a Later date.
