Sloan, Iowa- Marcella C. Thorgesen, 70, of Sloan died Friday, Aug 12, 1994, at a Sioux City hospital after a short illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Sloan with the Rev. Emery Killian officiating. Burial will be in the Albaton Cemetery in Albaton, Iowa. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thorgesen was born July 24, 1924, in Magnolia, Iowa, the daughter of Frances McHugh and Lucy Gray. She attended schools in the Sloan area. She married Harry Thorgesen of Sloan on May 22, 1965, in Sergeant Bluff. She lived most of her life in the Sloan area. She was a homemaker and health care aid.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Cecil Demke of Wakefield, Nebr.; four daughters, Shirley Geesaman of Vancouver, Wash.: Charlotte (Judy) Hayford of Altoona, Iowa,; Jackueline Zimmerman of Sioux City and Bernice Papevis of Sioux City; a brother, Gene McHugh of Sioux City; two sisters, Trecisa Femming of Vancouver, Wash and Bernadette Haucher of Depot Bay, Org; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
