10 March 1988Eva L Thomas, 79, Sloan, Iowa died Thursday, March 3, 1988 at St Lukes Medical Center in Sioux City.
She was born May 22, 1908 at Albaton, Iowa to Norman L and Anna (Mulvig) Olson. She graduated from Sloan High School and received her teaching certificate from Morningside College. She taught school in the rural Albaton area for many years and was then employed at the Sloan Nursing Home for 10 years
On February 9, 1929, she married Harley Thomas in Sioux City.
She was a member of Skien Lutheran Church and the A.L.C.W.
Survivors include her husband, Harley, one son, Gary of Pineville, Mo., one daughter, Mrs Jon (Beverly) Roarson of Sloan, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister and one great granddaughter.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 7, 1988 at the Skien Lutheran Church at Sloan with Rev Peter V Boe officiating. The organist was Mrs. Norman Westergaard. Mr. Gerald Edmondson was soloist and guitarist and sang :How Great Thou Art”.
Bearers were Edwin Scott, Michael Wilt, Kevin Kollbaum, Norman Olson, Robert Schlessman and Gerald Edmondson.
Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery at Sloan with arrangements by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
