DANBURY, Iowa — Kara Kay Pithan, 16, of Danbury died Monday, Dec. 27, 1999, in Danbury of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury, with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Danbury Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p. today, with vigil wake service at 7:30
at the church. Arrangements are under the direction, of Armstrong Funeral Home in Danbury.Miss Pithan was born Dec. 15, 1983, in Sioux City, the daughter of Greg and Jane (Fitzpatrick) Pithan. She was raised in Danbury. She attended kindergarden at Maple Valley School in Mapleton, Iowa, then Danbury Catholic School through the sixth grade. She attended Anthon¬Oto Maple Valle Junior High School in Anthon, Iowa. She was currently a sophomore at Maple Valley Anthon-Oto High School in Mapleton.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and participated in St. Mary's CCD Program. She played softball with the championship winning Danbury Girls Team. She also played softball, volleyball and basketball during her junior and senior high school days. She was currently active as a manager for Maple Valley Anthon-Oto High School wrestling sqaud and served as a student council member.
Survivors include her parents of Danbury; a sister, Maggie at home; maternal grandthother, Laura Fitzpatiiek of Danbury; paternal grandmother, Helen Pithan of Danbury; and especial friend, Megan Armstrong of Danbury.
She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Dan Fitzpatrick and George Pithan.
Pallbearers will be Jason LaFebvre, Todd McBride, Dale Hahn, David Pithan, Cory Bumann and Luke Mohrhauser.
