9 December 2012Owen L. Daly, 71, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be held 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cathedral of the Epiphany Catholic Church, with the Rev. Patrick Behm officiating. Online condolences can be directed to meyerbroschapels.com.
Owen was born the son of Bernard "Bud" and Agnes (Claeys) Daly on May 24, 1941, in Casper, Wyo. He grew up in Wyoming and worked on ranches as a teenager. He attended Heelan High School before honorably serving his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his service, he made his home in California.
Owen worked as a printer for a paper company and retired 20 years ago. After retirement, he moved to Bridgeport, Calif., where he worked as a probation officer.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his dog, Tonka.
Owen is survived by two sons, Bill Daly and Tim Daly, both of California; one brother, Pat (Linda) Daly of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Martha Lacy of Sioux City; five nieces and nephews, Lisa, Rick, Mark, Kim and Matt; and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
