9 December 2012Beverly Joanne (Navrkal) McClain, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at her home after a two-year battle with breast and brain cancer.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Michael J. Erpelding officiating. The body has been cremated. Her ashes will be scattered at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of North Dallas Funeral Home.
Beverly was born Feb. 27, 1957, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ernie and Stella (Yusten) Navrkal. She attended grade school in rural Nebraska and Lawton and Bronson, Iowa, graduating from Lawton High School in 1975. She graduated from Stewart's School of Cosmetology in 1980.
She married Mark McClain on July 11, 1992, in Dallas. Beverly moved to Borger, Texas in 1980, then to Dallas in 1990, where she resided until her death.
Beverly sold Avon and was a hair stylist. She was employed at Munsch Hardt Kopf and Harr PC until 2012.
She attended Northway Church of Dallas. She enjoyed reading and attending her children's sports, school and church activities. She volunteered for her children's activities, at church and for car pooling.
Survivors include her husband, Mark; two sons, Andrew and Adam of Dallas; her parents, Ernie and Stella Navrkal of Sioux City; two brothers, Bob (Linda) Navrkal of Hinton, Iowa, and Jim (Kelly) Navrkal of Sioux City; a sister, Barb (Ken) Culliton of Sioux City; six nephews; a niece; two great-nephews; a great-niece; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elsie Yusten of Ponca, Neb., and Frank and Julia Navrkal of Waterbury, Neb.
