Regina Lucille (Koch) (Roe) McCormick, 91, of Oceanside, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at her home, surrounded by family and friends.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at First Lutheran Church in Vista, Calif., with the Rev. Ramon Zarate officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen Brothers Mortuary in Vista.

Regina Lucille Koch was born May 8, 1921, in Omaha, Neb., to Lawrence and Evangeline Koch.

She married John A. Roe of Sioux City, where they resided and raised five children, Mary Ann Rogers, Donna Gale Petersburg, Connie Lee Schrieber, John A. Roe and James T. Roe. Regina was widowed when a tragic accident took John's life. She returned to school at Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City and graduated with a licensed practical nurse degree. She worked nights to support her family.

When Regina visited friends from Iowa in California, she was introduced to Charles "Mac" McCormick, a widower with three children, Wade McCormick, Lynne Bridges and Karen McCormick. They married in 1968, and she relocated to California. Mac died in 1997. She was able to stay in her beloved home until her death.

Regina was a member of First Lutheran Church in Vista for 44 years.

Survivors include her eight children; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her closest friend, Milena Butts; and an adopted daughter, Kathy Johnson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Robert; her sister, Ruth; and a number of lifelong friends.

Memorials may be directed to Rancho Buena Vista Adobe, American Cancer Society or San Diego Hospice.
