21 December 2012Raymond E. Leeright, 78, of Sioux City, formerly of Kimberling City, Mo., died peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, with his family by his side.
Per his wishes, the body was cremated. Services will be at a later date in Kimberling City and in Lebanon, Ill. For service dates, contact Cheryl Leeright, 2712 S. Patterson St., Sioux City, IA 51106. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.
Raymond was born Dec. 18, 1934, in Cairo, Ill., the son of Minor and Muse (McNatt) Leeright. Following college, he started working for Norfolk and Southern Railway.
He married Cheryl Peyton on July 14, 1984, at St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Belleville, Ill. Raymond and Cheryl lived in many places during his career with the railroad.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kimberling City and Shiloh (Ill.) Methodist Church. He was active in church activities and church choir. Raymond collected railroad memorabilia and was a great photographer, leaving the family with great photo memories. He enjoyed developing his own photos. Raymond was loved by his family and many friends.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Leeright; a sister, Lois Pulley; his children, Ann Louden, Cheri' Collins, Richard Harrison, Mark Harrison, Chuck Harrison and Michael Harrison; and a special niece, Ruth Drummond.
