OMAHA, Neb. - Russell W Perkins, 79, of Omaha died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christy-Smith-McCulloch Chapel in Moville, Iowa. with the Rev. Bruce Jackson of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel.

Mr. Perkins was the son of Arthur and Morenta Perkins. He married Patsy Robinson in 1946.

He served in World War II and received many medals of merit including the Bronze Star. He spent most of his adult life as a truck driver in the Iowa and Nebraska areas. He was a member of American Legion Post #331 and FOE #154 in Omaha.

Survivors include his former wife, Patsy. Perkins of Lawton; a son, Jim and his wife, Linda Perkins of Omaha; two brothers, Gaylen Perkins of Cushing. Iowa, and Gerald Perkins of Correctionville, Iowa; two sisters, Lalia Downey of Corretionville, and Mildred Joy of Aurelia, Iowa; two grandchildren, Joanna and Jacob Perkins: and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Della Whyte and Elanys Odgen, and an infant brother Roland Perkins.
