LAWTON. Iowa — Gwendolyn Juanita Henningsen, 80, of Lawton died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, with the Rev. Jim Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until service time today at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.

Mrs. Henningsen was born Aug. 6, 1919, near Mondamin, Iowa, the daughter of John F. and Elizabeth (Kress) Earleywine. She graduated from Onawa (Iowa) High School in 1937.

She married James G. Henningsen on Aug. 27, 1938, in Onawa. The couple made their home in Lawton. She was employed with Sioux City Stationery and National Supply Co. for 20 years. He died Jan. 12, 1991, in Lawton.

She wad a member of Community Presbyterian Church United Presbyterian Women and a former youth leader and Bible School superintendent. She was a charter member and a past president of Lawton American Legion Auxiliary Post 718, U.T.D., Study Club, Lawton Garden Club, Lawton Friendship Club and Step Beyond at Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, James and Sandra of Camarillo, Calif. and Robert and Kathy of Las Vegas; a daughter and her husband, Patty and Terry Holland of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; a sister, Illa Struble of San Clemente, Calif.; Six grandchildren, Tami Henningsen Logan, Katy, Haley, Joshua G. and Jared J. Henningsen and Trent Holland; two great-grandchildren: and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Ann Henningsen; a brother, Al Earleywine; and four sisters, Ethel Conyers, Alice Miller, Lila Odom and Eunice Warren.
