MOVILLE, Iowa — Edwin George Schwedler, 88, of Moville died Saturday, Oct. 10, 1998, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center in Correctionville, Iowa, following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with the Rev. Michael Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery, Lawton, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.

Mr. Schwedler was born Feb. 16, 1910, in LaPort, Ind., the son of August and Emma (Zellmer) Schwedler. He moved with his family to Iowa in 1922. He attended school in Bronson, Iowa.

He married Lucille Yates on Feb. 2, 1933, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Moville, Climbing Hill and Pierson, Iowa area before retiring in 1977, and moving to Moville.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Meadows Golf Club, Moville Elderly Housing and Senior Center.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Patrick McCormick of Sioux City and Jeanette and Cletus Ortmeier of Milford, Iowa; a son, Gene of Moville; a sister and her husband, Viola and Robert Olsen of Sioux Falls, S.D.; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald; a great-grandchild; and four brothers, Clarence, Walter, Harold and Alfred.

Pallbearers will be Cletus Ortmeier, Patrick, Chad and Tim McCormick, Dan Wilsen and Allan Odle.
