Lawton, Iowa — Maxine D. Jansen, 70, of Lawton died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church,with the Rev: Louis Sievert, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery at Lawton. Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Jansen was born Sept. 22, 1926, in Sioux City, the daughter of Daniel and Irma (Phillips) Blades. She was raised in Sioux City.

She married Martin R. Jansen on May 1, 1948, in Elk Point, S.D. He died Aug. 10, 1992, in Sioux City. The couple moved to Lawton in 1962. She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a son, Donald of Lawton; and five sisters, Peggy and her husband, Bob Cohen, Sharon Blades, all of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Vina and her husband, Oliver Wensel of Aurora, Colo., Della and her husband, Carleton Grindberg and Rose and her husband, Bob Pedersen, all of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Donald and Kenneth; and a sister, Cleo Jansen.

Pallbearers will be Andy and Jeff Nitzschke, Bob Pedersen, Don Berg, David, and Doug Grindberg.

Memorials may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church.
