Evelyn A. Polley, 88, of Jacksonville, Ark., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, May 28, 1997, in Jacksonville.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home, with Monsignor Michael D. Sernett, pastor of Nativity Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery at Lawton,Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 6:30 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Polley was born Oct. 9, 1908, in Jackson, Neb., the daughter of John and Eunice (Amick) Nichols. She married Donald Polley in 1936, He died on Sept. 20, 1978, in Dyer, Ind. She had lived in Sioux City, Lawton, and Wheatfield, Ind. She moved to Jacksonville in October 1996. She was employed as an escort driver with Over the Road Equipment Trucking for over 20 years. She retired in 1995.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Michele Davis of Jacksonville; two sons, Donald Anthony of Ruston, La. and James P. of Hammond, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Dickson, Marie Schoen, both of Sioux City, and Genevieve Green of Chicago, Ill.
