LAWTON, Iowa — A. Evelyn "Eve" Grigg, 98, of Lawton died Thursday, March 6, 1997, at Countryside Retirement Home in Sioux City.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Banner. Township Cemetery at Lawton. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.

Mrs. Grigg was born May 9, 1898, near Climbing Hill, Iowa, to Robert and Amanda Hegstrom. Early on, she moved with her family to Lawton, and lived most of her life there, until health forced her to the nursing home in Sioux City in 1988. She married Fred E. Grigg March 24, 1920, at Sioux City. He died Dec. 19, 1977, at Sioux City. She was a housewife.

She was a member of the Community Presbyterian Church of Lawton and the Prebyterian Women.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbaaids, Betty and Robert Andrus and Lucille and Herbert Rhine, all of Lawton; two grandchildren, Joyce Shumansky of Burnsville, Minn., Daniel Rhine of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and a great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Art, Jay, Philip, and George Hegstrom; two sisters, Mildred McNaughton and Gertrude Howard:, and a great-grandson.

Memorials may be given in her name in care of the family.
