CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa —Gladys Ethel Dixon, 85, of Correctionville died Friday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will he at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Rev. Consorcia A. Sanchez officiating.

Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with his family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mrs. Dixon was born May 10, 1914, at Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, the daughter of Charles and Georgia (McKenzie) Pavick. The family moved to Brandsville, Mo., when she was 3 years old. She attended grade school and high school in Brandsville, and attended college at Southwestern Missouri State, Springfield, Mo.

She married Russel Dixon on Feb. 9, 1937, at Brandsville. The couple moved to Correctionville in March of 1937.

She taught school for five, years in Missouri. She was a member of United Methodist Church, and was active in Sunday School, WSCS, PEO, American Legion and other activities.

Survivors include her husband; two sons and their wives, Robert and Sally, and Don and Jane, all of Correctionville; seven grandchildren; five great-gandchildren; and a sister, Vivian Crabtree of West Plains, Mo.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, and a sister.
