HORNCIK, Iowa — Janice Marie Teel, 65, of Hornick died Monday, Dec. 14, 1998, at Burgess Memorial Hospital in Onawa, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Hornick, with the Rev. Ed Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery, rural Holly Springs, Iowa.

Visitation will be 5 to 1 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa.

Mrs. Teel was born Feb. 2, 1933, in Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of William "Ford" and Marie Elizabeth (Luchsinger) Skinner.

She graduated from Hornick High School in 1950. She attended Wyane State College in Wayne, Neb., for one year and Morningside College in Sioux City for one year.

She married Dale S. Teel on Aug. 1, 1953, in Sioux City.

She was employed as a secretary for Sioux City Board of Education, as a head cook at Westwood Community School for many years and in the dietary department at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting.

She was member of United Methodist Church and American Legion Hindman-Steele Auxiliary Post 492 of Hornick.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael and his friend, Susan Claeys, and Clifford and his wife, Lori, all of Hornick; two daughters, Peggy and her husband, John Beem, of Villisca, Iowa, and Deborah Teel and her friend, Gary Olson, of Oxford, Ala.; four grandchildren, Lindsey, Ashley, Johnny and Halee; a sister, Karen Yarbrough of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Delores Skinner.
