HORNICK, Iowa — Karen Lynn Ronfeldt, 41, of Hornick died Monday, Sept. 21, 1998, at Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, Iowa.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church in Hornick, with the Rev. James Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs, Iowa.

Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Wood Funeral Home in Sloan, Iowa.

Mrs. Ronfeldt was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Onawa, Iowa, the daughter of Eldred and Marjorie (Hudgel) Loyd. She graduated from Westwood High School, Sloan, Iowa, in 1975. She attended Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City.

She married Dale Ronfeldt on Nov. 21, 1975, in Salix, Iowa. She was employed as a dental assistant with Bliss and Bliss Dental Office in Sioux City. She was then employed as a receptionist and office assistant with John Holmes Publishing Co. and Pleasant View Care Center, both in Whiting. She then did home schooling and developed a cake decorating business.

She was a member of Holly Springs Bible Fellowship and Hornick Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. She served on the Hornick Town Council for four years and coached T-ball.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Adam of Ames, Iowa, and Ben of Hornick; a daughter, Lindsey of Hornick; her parents of Hornick; a brother and his wife, Larry and Susan Loyd of Whiting; and two sisters and, their husbands, Judy and Ron Sinn of Peoria, Ill., and Janet and Stan Golka of Land of Lakes, Fla.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances; paternal grandparents, William Edward and Hazel Loyd; and maternal grandparents, Richard and Josephine Hudgel.
