Hazel C. Jensen, 89, of Sioux Cite died Tuesday, September 15,1998 at a Sioux City nursing home following a short illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, with Lyle Schober and Bryan Hansen officiating. Burial will be at Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Miss Jensen was horn Jan. 16, 1909, in Sioux City, the daughter of Hans and Hanna (Smith) Jensen, She lived in the Ainsworth, Neb. area during her earlier life. She attended Chadron State College, Chadron, Neb., and taught in rural Nebraska for several years. Upon returning to Sioux City, she worked at several local companies, retiring from Zenith Radio.

Survivors include a sister, Ione Burkhardt of Renton, Wash.; a brother, Earl Jensen of Alliance, Neb.; a niece, Diane Craig; a nephew, Steve Burns; and a nephew and his wife who were her caregivers, Randy and Sue Burns of Sioux City; along with several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice Larson, Mildred Miller, and Neva Burns.

Pallbearers will be Ray and Donovan Craig, Derrick Gayken. Nick Jensen, Mike Doud and Tony Diming.
