SIOUX CITY | Franklin William (Billy) Freeman, 69 of Fremont, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

There will be no public services. Arrangements are under the direction of Dugan Funeral Services in Fremont. Condolences may be left at www.duganchapel.com.

He was born in Sioux City, on Feb. 6, 1943, to James G Freeman and Frances L. Freeman. He served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1967. He fought in the Vietnam War and was discharged with honors.

He was an avid fisherman and loved to hunt. Billy was a carpenter by trade and anyone that knew him loved him. He was a good man and a loving father to his two daughters.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly Short (Tommy) of Stanley, Va., and Leanne Kreikemeier and companion Dusty of Scribner, Neb.; three brothers, Jim Freeman of Chandler, Okla., Bob Freeman (Pat) of Galva, Iowa, and Mike Freeman (Karen) of Jefferson City, Mo.; uncles and aunts, Russell and Bertha Snyder, Ronald and Frances Snyder and Skip and Karen Snyder, all of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Andrew, Nathan, and Melissa Kreikemeier of Scribner and Sarah Myers of Sioux City; one great-grandchild, Jaydin Eugene Kreikemeier; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded by his parents; and a sister, Patricia Coney.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
