SIOUX CITY | Jodi M. Kempers, 55, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Edgar Rodriguez officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Jodi was born on April 20, 1957, in Sioux City, the daughter of Douglas and Jo Ellen (Bergeon) Stene. She grew up and attended school in Homer, Neb.

Jodi married Dwayne G. Kempers on Nov. 12, 1988, in Las Vegas, Nev. The couple made their home in Sioux City. Jodi worked for Mercy Medical Center for 30 years in several departments. She had worked at Casa de Paz for the last eight years.

She enjoyed fishing with her husband, Dwayne, playing cards, spoiling her granddaughters, and pedicures. She loved to sit in the sun and visit with family and friends at the picnic table.

Survivors include her husband, Dwayne of Sioux City; two sons, Eric Kempers of Sioux City, and Adam (Allison) Kempers of Indianapolis, Ind.; a daughter, Nikki (Mike) Prosser of Sergeant Bluff; two brothers, John (Liz) Stene of Fremont, Neb., and Duane Lilly and special friend, Colleen of Sioux City; two sisters, Vicki (Doug) Hohenstein of Lenexa, Kan., and Claresa (Keith) Zautke of Pierce, Neb.; and three granddaughters, Ashlyn and Taylor Prosser, and Kaylee Kempers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Mark.
