Margaret "Maggie" (Bradshaw) Gilkison, 78, of North Sioux City died Sunday, Jan. 5, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Riverside United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Sergeant Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the Berkernier Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gilkison was born April 2, 1918, in Hinton, Iowa, the daughter of Dennis and Mae (Crittenden) Trobaugh. As a child, she moved to Sergeant Bluff and Sioux City. She attended Central High School.

She married Everett R. Bradshaw Sr. on Sept. 28, 1936 in South Sioux City. The coupe made their home in North Sioux City. He died Oct. 28, 1956.

She married Paul W. Gilkison on May 2, 1964 in Sioux City. The couple made their home in North Sioux City. He died May 18, 1995.

She was employed at Sioux City Battery Company for a number of years and later at Standard Brands and the Super 8 Motel.

She served on the North Sioux City Election Board, was president and a member of the North Sioux City Senior Citizens, and a member of the Firemens Auxiliary of North Sioux City.

Survivors include two sons, Everett Bradshaw Jr. and his wife, Ann,of Sloan, Iowa,and Jim Bradshaw of Jefferson, S.D.; her mother of Sioux City; eight sisters, Clara and her husband, Stanley Hill, Susan and her husband,Gene Paugh, Melvina Nelson, Pat and her husband, Sterling McInnis, Berta and her husband,Bennie Whitlock, all of Sioux City, Millie and her husband, Bill Hogan of North Sioux City, Geneviene Frazee of Minneapolis, Minn., and Marietta and her husband, Keith Seaton, of Whiting, Iowa; five brothers and their wives, Dennis and Vivian, Bruce and Esther, and Jerry and Debbie all of Sioux City, Bill and Irene of Centralia, Wash., and Roy and Isabel of Elk Point, S.D.; a step-daughter, Doreen Lowrey of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Ernest E.
