Roland Joseph Eickholt, 74, of Correctionville died Wednesday, June 3, 1998, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St., Joseph's Catholic Church in Anthon, Iowa, with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the Armstrong Chapel in Anthon.

Mr. Eickholt was born March 5,1924, in Anthon, the son of Anton and Ida (Dandurand) Eickholt. He lived in the Anthon and Correctionville area, where he farmed, trucked and was a part time police officer at the Woodbury County Fairgrounds.

He married Elizabeth Ahart on Feb. 12, 1945, in Sioux City,

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; seven sons, Ron and his wife Sherri of Arroyo Grande, Calif., Paul and his wife Laura of Meridianville, Ala., Jim and his wife Sharon of Smithland, Iowa, Leonard of Clarinda, Iowa, Jon of State Center, Iowa, Harlan and his wife, Penny of Bowdle, S.D. and Colin of Norfolk, Neb.; five daughters, Kathy Evans and Laura Comer, both of Sioux City, Mary and her husband Joe Wiltgen, of South Sioux City, Maureen and her husband Mark Haroldson of Royal, Iowa and Roberta and her husband John Wattlewotth of Story City, Iowa; 43 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald of Hinton, Iowa and Richard and his wife Valerie of Columbus, Neb.; and three sisters and their husbands, Margaret and Glenn Lundblad of Fairfield Bay, Ark., Marlene and Don Zacek of Sioux City and Kathleen and Bob Wacheldorf of Sergeant Bluff.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Mike Haroldson, Luke and Brent Eickholt, Adam Wattleworth, Neal and Jason Corner.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice Siouxland.
