ANTHON, Iowa — Edwin F. Walling; 80, of Alexander, Ark., formerly of Anthon, Iowa, died Thursday, July 9, 1998, at his home in Alexander of natural causes.

Services will be at 10. a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon with the Rev. David Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Anthon. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today with a vigil wake at 7 p.m. followed by the Rosary at the Armstrong Funeral Hoine in Anthon.

Mr. Walling was born Oct. 31, 1917, in Anthon, the son of Charles and Clara (Diamond) Walling.

He married Priscilla Yvonne Stansberry on May 20, 1942 in Sioux City.

He worked as a foreman at Georgia Pacific Paper Mill. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Little Rock, Ark.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, James of Des Moines, Alan of Clive, Iowa, Brian of Snellville, Ga., and Michael of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Caroyle Kaiak of Wisconsin Dells, Wis., and Claudia Randall of Bryant; Ark.; two sisters, Carolyn Curtin of Anthon and Cecilia Mead of Oto; 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one son, Edwin Lloyd; three brothers, Cyril, Maurice and Beryl; one sister and one brother in infancy, and two great-grandchildren.
