CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa —Iona Maud Schumacher, 89, of Correctionville died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at United Methodist Church in Correctionville, with the Revs. Paul Evans and Consortia Sanchez officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mrs. Schumacher was born Aug. 16, 1909, in Bronson, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Jesse (Crozell) Mahin.

She married Theodore Roosevelt Schumacher on Feb. 2, 1923, in Battle Creek, Iowa. The couple farmed for several farmers until purchasing a farm in 1942, near Cushing, Iowa. They retired and moved into Correctionville. She sold Avon for over 20 years. He died Feb. 9, 1995.

She was a member of United Methodist church, Linger-Longers Club and T.O.P.P.S.

Survivors include six children, Betty and her husband Stanley Fitch, Colleen Mammen, Kay and her husband John Dorn, Gay and his wife, Ann, Shirley and her hulband Gary Goodburn, and Dorothy and her husband, Steve Jantz; 41 grandclildren; 49 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Iola; a son-in-law, Elmer Mammen; and two grandchildren, Sharon Fitch and Mark Susie.
