CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa — Margaret Lillian Knudsen, 86, of Correctionville died Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville, with the Rev. Michael Harmon, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Correctionville officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Knudsen was born Oct. 21, 1910, in Cushing, Iowa, the daughter of Nelson Clark and Sylvia Mae. (Wright) Foster. She attended country schools in Lawton, Iowa and Correctionville through the eighth grade.

She married Lorens J. Knudsen Sr. on Aug. 25, 1927, in Pierson, Iowa. She lived in Cushing, Lawton and Correctionville. She was employed as a cook for the Correctionville School from 1960 to 1968 and the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home from 1909 until retiring in October 1975.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed embroidering, puzzles and playing cards.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Mildred June and Arnold Sands of Correctionville and Doris Irene and Marvin Peekenschnieder of Aurelia, Iowa; a son and his wife, Lorens Jr. and Pacita of Chula Vista, Calif.; two sisters, Lelia M. Florke and Mildred W. Smith, both of Correctionville; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great¬grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ellsworth, and Orville Foster; and two grandchildren, Jesse T, Knudsen and Joann Rae Peekenschnieder.
