CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa —Bradley Ernest Smith, 43, of Correctionville died Friday, Sept. 26, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Church of Christ in Correctionville with the Rev. Elmer Hodge and Clif J. Cockburn officiating. Burial will be in Correctionville Ceitnetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m today with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 3 p.m. all at Barker Funeral Home in Correctionville.

Mr. Smith was born 4 Dec 1953, in Sioux City, the son of Wilbur Earnest and Aletha Louise (Casey) Smith. He graduated from Eastwood High School in Correctionville in 1972.

He married Mary Cope on Nov. 23, 1973, in Holstein, Iowa.

He lived most of his life in the Correctionville and Moville, Iowa areas. He was employed in the maintenance department at IBP inc. for the past 20 years, most currently as superintendent.

He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ where he greatly enjoyed being a Sunday School teacher and one of the church pianists.

He enjoyed his family, wood-working, fishing, camping, restoring his home and was active in promoting music.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Amy and KayCee of Correctionville; mother-in-law, Alice Cope of Holstein; two brothers-in-law, Roger Cope and his wife, Sara of Hornick, Iowa, and John Cope of Holstein; and three nieces, Erin, Tara and Lexie Cope.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Pallbearers will be Don Casey, Phil Casey, Curtis Cockburn, Larry Meinen, Phil Sevening and Dennis Smith.
