CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa — Alta P. Clark, 83, of Correctionville died Friday, Jan, 17, 1997, at her residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville. Burial will be in Correctionville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Barker Funeral Home of Correctionville.

Mrs. Clark was born Jan. 20, 1913, in rural Union Township near Pierson, Iowa, the daughter of Loyd R. and Ruth Etta (Green) Baker. After graduating from Pierson High School in 1930, she married Ray Clark on June 18, 1932, in Fremont, Neb. In 1935, they resided in Correctionville.

She was active in the March of Dimes at the height of the polio epidemic and served as a Girl Scout leader. She worked in the family owned locker/dairy and grocery business and as a seamstress.

Survivors include her husband; a son and his wife, Daniel R. and Alta J. of Correctionville; a daughter and her husband, Ruth E. and Jesse E. Graybill of Atlanta, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Dawn McCrea, Julie Rousseau, Darla Ludvigson, Bernell, Kenneth and Dwight Graybill, and Murray Clark; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Loyd Jr. and William R.; two sisters, Betty Brown and Fern Hinkhouse; and a grandson, Calvin Dean Clark
