SALIX, Iowa — Francis B. "Jack" Schopp, 82, of Salix died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, at Countryside Retirement Home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix with the Rev. Bruce. A. Law1e officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7, to 9 p.m. and a parish. Vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Morningside Funeral Home.

Mr. Schopp was born March 24, 1913 in Qmaha. He attended schools in Whiting and Salix and graduated from Salix High School in 1932. He married Grace P. Milligan Nov. 17, 1938, in Pender, Neb. She died Nov: 10, 1991, in Sioux City. He drove a milk truck for his father for several years: farmed in the Salix area and also owned and operated his own gravel truck.

Mr. Schopp was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include a daughter Gertrude, and her husband, Tom Stevens of Sioux City; two sons, Frank of Elk Point, S.D., and Larry of Salix; five grandchildren, Kim DeWitt, Jill McCauley, Aaron, Schopp, Randy Williams and Brenda Baker and several great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Hittle.
