Roger F. Hubert, 68, of Longmont, Colorado, died Saturday, February 1, 1997, at his son's residence in Erie, Colorado.

Mr. Hubert was born March 12, 1928 at Salix, Iowa, the son of Albert and Blendina (Johnson) Hubert. He attended school in Salix and married Elsie DeWeese on April 9, 1947. The couple made their home in Salix until moving to Sioux City in 1950. They had been long time residents of Colorado and traveled extensively operating their antique business. Mrs. Hubert died January 14, 1996, at Longmont, Colorado.

He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Longmont.

He is survived by a son and his wifer Roger A. and Lynn Hubert of Erie, Colorado; daughter and her husband, Sheila and Kevin McCoy of Las Vegas, Nevada; 3 grandchildren, John and his wife, Amanda Vigil, Christopher and Katie Hubert; 2 great-grandchildren, Amanda and Jamie; 3 sisters, Corine Goodwin of Sioux City, Lorraine and husband L.T. Watson and Lucille and Kermit Lee, all of Sloan, Iowa; and a brother, Albert of Salix, Iowa.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; 2 grandchildren, Jody and Jimmy Vigil; a brother, Dick; and a sister Rosanna Schellinger.

A Funeral Mass was held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, February 5, 1997, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Salix, Iowa, with Father Bruce Lawler, Mass Celebrant. The pianist was Sister Julie Marsh, PBVM and the cantor was Dorothy Hubert.

Bearers were Christopher Hubert, Rodney DeWeese, John Vigil, Kevin McCoy, Dana Begley and Nick Hubert.

Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at Salix, Iowa.

A Scripture Service was held at 7:30 PM Tuesday, February 4, 1997, at the Wood Funeral Chapel at Sloan, Iowa. The organist was Mrs. Greg Heisterkamp and the cantor was Dorothy Hubert.
Arrangements were by the Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
