Clarence W. Patterson, 85, of Salix died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1995, at his residence.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix with the Rev. Bruce A. Lawler Officiating. The body will be cremated and the ashes will be buried in St. Joseph Cemetery in Salix. Visitation, with the family, will be today, with a rosar'y recited at 6:15 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Larkin Northside Funeral Home in Sioux City is in charge of arrangethents.

Mr. Patterson was born Feb. 3, 1910, in Maitland, Mo., the son of Clyde and Minerva Patterson. The family moved to the Salix area when he was 8 years old and he graduated from Sloan High School. He married Ouida Brouillette March 15, 1938, in Salix. He was a self employed farmer, operating farms in the Whiting and Salix area. He retired in about 1967 and moved into Salix and continued to help farm on a part time basis.

Mr. Patterson was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Michael of Sloan, John and his wife, Jackie of Dakota City, James of Glenwood, and David of Council Bluffs; three daughters, Pauline Schmitz of Omaha, Jeanette Chicoine of Salix and Theresa and her husband, Lee Girard of Sergeant Bluff; a brother, Louis of Pinon Hills, Calif.; and a sister, Murle Anfinson of Cushing.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Phillip M. and a brother, Roy.

A memorial has been established in his name with Hospice of Siouxland.
