CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa — Ruth Louise Meister, 91, of Correctionville died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, Iowa, with the Rev. Michael Kroona officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery in Moville.

Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville.

Mrs. Meister was born Oct. 19, 1908, in Whiting, Iowa, the daughter of George E. and Eva (Martin) Hughes. She was raised and attended school in the Luton, Bronson and Hinton areas. She graduated from Hinton (IA) High School in 1927.

She married Otto John Meister on July 12, 1928, in Sioux City. He died Sept. 16, 1981, in Moville. They farmed near Moville until retiring to Pierson, Iowa, in 1971.

She was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville and also was a member of Martha Circle and active in ALCW. She was a member of a neighborhood card club, Farm Bureau, and was a longtime active member of Arlington Future Farmers 4-H Club.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Wilma and Frank Bollin of Anthon, Iowa, and Darlene and Lee Morey of Grundy Center, Iowa; two sons and their wives, Glenn and Betty Meister of Correctionville, and Verle and Connie Meister of Cheyenne, Wyo.; a daughter-in-law, Ethelyn Meister of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Floyd Hughes of Westfield, Iowa; a brother-in-law and his wife, Louie and Alta (Billie) Meister of Kingsley, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by a son, Lloyd Meister; seven sisters, Catherine Ahlquist, Maude Crooks, Clarissa Fosnot-Crooks, Nellie Hacker, Dorothy Henshaw, Myra Hughes and Carrie Reed; a brother, Milo Hughes; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brice Bollin, Wayne Bollin, Steve Johnson, Greg Meister, John Meister, Martin Morey, Mike Morey Sr., Scott Morey and Tom Morey.
