Services held for Donald C. Conry

Donald C. "Don" Conry, 69, of Kingsley died unexpectedly Monday, October 9, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center, Sioux City, Iowa.

Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, Iowa. Rev. Michael Kroona and Rev. Paul Evans officiated. Burial was in Arlington Township Cemetery under the direction of Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home in Kingsley.

Ruth Chartier, organist, accompanied Congregational Hymns "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "Just As I Am."

Pallbearers were Mike Hamman, Leo Keck, Scott Bappe, Dale Benedix, Duane and Harold Hopp.

Mr. Conry was born November 13, 1930, in Sioux City, the son of Clifford and Frances (Bohlen) Conry. He attended country school in Woodbury County, Iowa, and graduated from Kingsley High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1952.

He married Shirley Wink on April 4, 1954. He farmed in the Kingsley/Moville area. His wife died September 11, 1992.

He married Joyce (Bainbridge) Waite on November 26, 1994, in Paullina, Iowa. The couple lived in Paullina until 1999, when they moved to Kingsley.

He was an associate member of First Presbyterian Church in Paullina and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moyille. He also was an asspciate member of United Methodist Church in Kingsley. He was a member of American Legion Nash Post 140 of Kingsley.

Survivors include his wife; a son and his wife, Dennis and Rita of Moville; three daughters, Rebecca and her husband, Rodney Benedix of Maquoketa, Iowa, Leanna and her husband Robert Bottger of Moville, and Janette Conry of West Des Moines; a stepdaughter and her husband, Lisa and Mark Muilenburg of Orange City, Iowa; two stepsons and their wives, Kyle and Betsy Waite of Baton Rogue, La., and Byron and Theresa Waite of Coralville, Iowa; five grandchildren, Angie Conry and her fiancee, Ryan Haggin, Ashley and Katie Benedix, and Mary and Alex Bottger; 10 step-grandchildren, Sarah, Emily, Rachel and Rebekak Muilenburg, Garry Waite, and Courtney, Austin, Madison, Jayme and Hunter Waite; and a brother and his wife, Gene and Sheila Conry of San Jose, California.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wayne; and his wife Shirley.
