MOVILLE, Iowa — Evelyn (Chapman) Hogue, 82, of Moville died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2000, at Kingsley Nursing and Rehab Center in Kingsley, Iowa.

Private graveside services will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, at a later date, with the Rev. Harold Werley of Moville United Methodist Church officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Mrs. Hogue was born Dec. 27. 1917, in Rockville, Ind., the daughter of Lester and Hazel (Day) Chapman. She moved with her family to Honey Creek, Iowa as a child and was raised in the Turin and Onawa, Iowa area, where she attended school. She had lived in various cities in the United States. The last 10 years she lived in Forsyth. Mo. She entered the nursing home in Kingsley last year.

She was employed with Huber and Hunt and Nichols Construction Co. as a bookkeeper for over 30 years, retiring in the early 1980s.

She was a member of Ozark Mountain Christian Church in Forsyth, Mo.

Survivors include two brothers, Howard Chapman of Moville and Morris Chapman of Lafayette, La.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Hunt Barney.
