MOVILLE, Iowa - Derek William Rahn, 19, of Moville died Monday, Sept. 11, 2000 at University Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa following a lenethy illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville with Neil Peck officiating: Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today. with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Rahn was born Feb. 2. 1981 in Sioux City the son of Dan and Debbie (Koch) Rahn. He attended Woodbury Central High School. He was a long time Moville area resident.

He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Dan and Rita Rahn of Sioux City: mother and her special friend, Debbie Carter and Paul Patterson of Moville: a sister, Crystal Rahn of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Chad and Cindy of Sioux City: a stepsister and her husband, Paula and Todd Roling of Pierson, Iowa; maternal grandparents, Carroll and Wanda Koch of Moville; maternal great-grandmother, Esther Koch of Pierson.

He was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Bill and Ruth Carter and Leonard Koch; paternal grandparents, Francis and Beryle Rahn.

Pallbearers will be members of 91 Y Racing Team, Gayle Morgan, Cal Quintard, Pam Clark, Chris Jacobsen, Donny Parks and Larry Patterson.
