William M. Robinson 1914-2000

William M. Robinson. 86, of Sioux City died suddenly Sunday, Sept. 10, 2000, at his residence.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Bernie Colorado of St. James United Methodist Church officiating.

Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery, Moville, Iowa. Visitation Will be 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Robinson was born Aug. 15, 1914, in Sioux City, the son of William and Ella (Long) Robinson. He was raised in the Moville area and attended school in Moville.

He married Mae P. Dyer Oct. 8, 1935, in Sioux City. He was employed as a farm hand in the Moville and Bronson, Iowa, areas. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1944. He was employe'd with the Sioux City Stockyards for more than 30 years. He retired in the mid 1976s. His wife died Aug. 29, 1998, in Sioux City.

He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and Scandinavian Society.

Survivors include a daughter, La Retta Kracht of Salem, S.D.; a son and his wife, Jerry and Sandra of Salem; a brother, John of Kingsley, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Diane Connett, Paula Ramkey, Debra Lyons, Mark Kracht, Laura Palmer and Gregory and Daniel Robinson; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
