Kathryn Hindman-Irons, 80, of Sioux City died Thursday, Jan. 1, 1998, at a Sioux City hospital following a long illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at the Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Robert Rassmussen of Foursquare Church officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cememtery in Holly Springs, Iowa. There will be no visitation.

Mrs. Hindman-Irons was born Sept. 12, 1917, in Vermillion, S.D. She attended school in Walthill, Neb.

She married Orlie Hindman on Dec. 31, 1933 in Elk Point, S.D. He died May 30, 1945.

She was employed as a bartender and then a production worker at IBP. She was a volunteer for Woodbury County Community Action, A.I.D. Center, and the Red Cross.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Orvall and Joan Hindman of Lincoln City, Ore.; two daughters, Nancy Good of Sioux City and Barbara and her husband, David Treglia of Sgt. Bluff; 12 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Nyreen, Evelyn Hart, and Hilda Gallagher, and a brother, Donald Peterson.
