OBITUARY OF CECIL RUSS BOYD

Cecil Russ Boyd, 96, of Pleasanton, California, formerly of Hornick, Iowa, died March 13, 1997, at Valley memorial Hospital in Livermore, California.

Mr. Boyd was born March 29, 1900, in South Dakota, the son of Henry and Sybil (Smith) Boyd. On July 19, 1923, he married Margaret A. Johnson at LeMars, Iowa. He was an engineer with the railroad. The couple moved to LeMars where they operated the LeMars Food Centre. They farmed near Hornick before retiring. For several years they summered in Baudette, Minnesota. Mrs. Boyd died July 18, 1989, in Grad Forks, North Dakota.

He was a member of Attica Lodge #502 A.F. & A.M., Sloan, Iowa.

He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Marjorie McKewon of Pleasanton, California; 3 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Graveside services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 19, 1997 at the Chapel of Callaghan Mortuary in Livermore, California.

Graveside Services were held at 3:30 PM Wednesday, March 19, 1997, at Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Spring, Iowa, with Masonic Services by Attica Lodge #502 A.F. & A.M., Sloan, Iowa, Orator, Steve Jewett.

Local arrangements were by Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
