July 22, 2011John T. Saul, 50, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Indian Mission, with Deacon Pat Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation continues today until service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Online condolences may be posted at www.meyerbroschapels.com.
John was born May 14, 1961, in Yankton, S.D., the son of Emerson and Mary (Chapman) Saul.
John was employed as a cab driver for many years. He enjoyed fixing cars. He was a member of the Santee Tribe. He loved music, movies and collecting Hot Wheels, but his greatest love was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Merritt; three daughters, Natelia McPeek, Katrina McPeek and Toshina Merritt; two sons, Joseph Merritt and Travis McPeek; grandchildren, Michaelle, Adrianna, Nevaeh and Bayah; two brothers, Sam Saul and Emmet (Irene) Saul; and three sisters, Alice Saul, Liz Saul and Vanessa Saul.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Braxton, four brothers, Roger, Stanley, Gary and Emery; and two sisters, Patty and Janet.
