Margaret M. Finnegan, 97, of Portage, Mich., formerly of Sioux City, died Thursday, July 21, 2011.

Private services will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Langeland Family Funeral Homes in Kalamazoo, Mich.

Margaret was born Nov. 18, 1913, in Duryea, Pa., the daughter of Anthony and Martha Wenslivitis. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 2005, coming from Sioux City.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Judith Finnegan of Portage; two grandchildren, Peter (Heather) Finnegan of Lansing, Ill., and Margaret (Ian) Boynton of Redford, Mich.; two great-grandchildren, Patrick and Nathan Finnegan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas J. Finnegan in 1980; a son, Jerald Finnegan in 2007; a brother, William; and two sisters, Mary and Helen.
