Mary A. Myers, 86, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Holy Spirit Nursing Home in Sioux City.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Mary was born on May 9, 1925, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Eugene and Lillian (Banks) Kennedy. As a child, the family moved to Sioux City, where she grew up, attended school and graduated from Cathedral High School.

On Sept. 4, 1946, she married Ralph Myers. After their marriage, they moved to South Sioux City until 1960. They moved back to Sioux City at that time and had been residents here ever since. Ralph passed away Sept. 27, 2011, in Sioux City. Mary was a homemaker. She was also a seamstress and did mending for her children and grandchildren.

She was a current member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a former member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Sioux City. Mary will always be remembered as a bingo player, also known as Grandma Bingo. She was a member of Sun Valley Golf Course. She loved going to the boat and playing penny slots. She will be remembered for her love of playing cards, especially pitch, cooking and seamstress work.

She is survived by four daughters, Mary Myers of Sioux City, Trish and Dave Sevier of Rochester, N.Y., Jean Snyder of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Kathy Keane of Sioux City; four sons, Pat and Lori Myers of Omaha, Neb., Mike Myers of Ames, Iowa, Tim and Karen Myers of Houston, Texas, and Dan and Ann Myers of Sioux City; a sister, Elaine Tolan of Omaha; and a sister-in-law, Elaine Kennedy of Le Mars.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant son; brothers, Jim Kennedy and Cecil Kennedy; and a sister, Helen Halaszyn.
