30 October 1996James P. Hall, 73, of Salix, Iowa, died Wednesday, October 16, 1996, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
Mr. Hall was born August 6, 1923, in Clay Springs, Arizona, the son of William F. and Matilta (Rodgers) Hall. During World War II he served with the U.S. Navy. On April 19, 1944, he married Wilma Parsley in Oakland, California. The couple lived in Snowflake, Arizona, before moving to Salix 50 years ago. He was a paint crew supervisor with the Iowa State Highway Division for 25 years, retiring in '1985.
Mr. Hall was a member of the Salix Volunteer Fire Department and a past member of the Westwood Community School Board and the Moose Lodge of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Judy and her husband, John Beacom of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Greg Hall of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren, Kris Becker, Debi, John, Michelle, and James',Beacom; two great-grandchildren, Trey and Ashlie Becker; and 3 sisters, all of Phoenix, Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters.
The Scripture Service was 7:00 PM Friday, October 18, 1996, as St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix, Iowa.
The Funeral Mass was at 3:00 PM Saturday, October 19, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Salix, Iowa, with Father Bruce Lawler, Mass Celebrant. The organist was Mrs. Greg Heisterkamp.
Honorary Bearers were Keith Saunders, Lyall Saunders, James Becker, Pat Mulvihill, and Mike Dean.
Casket Bearers were EdLamoureax, Fred Nelson, Gene Rush, Raymond Beesom, John Beacom, St., and John Beacom; Jr.
Interment was in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Salix, Iowa, with arrangements by Wood Funeral Home, Sloan, Iowa.
