March 31, 2012David G. West, 83, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at Casa de Paz Nursing Home.
Memorial services will be 4 p.m. Sunday at his residence, with a picnic style dinner to follow. The family encourages you to bring your lawn chairs. There will be no visitation. David was born on May 14, 1928, in Brainerd, Minn., to Mercedes West. He lived in Washington State and California before settling in Sioux City in the early 1970s. He worked as a private contractor, roofer, ran his own auction company and was an auctioneer.
Besides his love of auctions, he enjoyed spending time with his family at social functions.
He is survived by his son, Edwin Horn II of Fort Madison, Iowa; daughter, Ashley Horn of Sioux City; and grandchildren, Morgan Carey and Edwin Horn.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and longtime companion, Elizabeth Horn.
