Ethel Mae Dugdale, 98, of Sioux City passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the Floyd House in Sergeant Bluff.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Ethel was born on Dec. 25, 1913, in Modale, Iowa, to Harry and Lela (Hansen) Lee. She graduated from Modale Consolidated High School in 1931.

She married Glenn Dugdale on June 27, 1934. To this union, two daughters were born. Ethel was a homemaker on their farm in the Modale/Mondamin area for 30 years, before moving to Sioux City in 1964. She resided there until moving to the Floyd House. Glenn passed away in 1982.

When she was able, she attended Grace United Methodist Church. Ethel was a wonderful cook and served huge dinners for the holidays and other special family occasions. She was especially noted in the family for her chocolate drop cookies and her strawberry preserves. She had a quiet sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories of her growing up days and life on the farm. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, handiwork, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy Cuthrell of Sac City, Iowa, and Jeanne and Duane McCallum of Sioux City; grandchildren, Duane Cuthrell and his friend, Gary Roccapriore of Albuquerque, N.M., Dean and Carrie Cuthrell of Early, Iowa, David and Joye Cuthrell of Bath, Mich., Dan and Marge Cuthrell of Early, and Diane and Don Salton of Dickens, Iowa; great-grandchildren, Aaron and Logan Cuthrell, Nina and Nadia Cuthrell, Colin Cuthrell, and Sydney, Cale and Jadey Salton; and a sister, Erma Jean Willhite of Midwest City, Okla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn; a brother, Howard; and a son-in-law, Eldon Cuthrell.

Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Siouxland.
