Morning Star Marie Wood, 25, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Ho-Chunk Community Center in Winnebago, Neb., with Mr. Mitchell Parker in charge of the service. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill, Neb. Visitation will be begin today and will continue until the service time Friday at the Ho-Chunk Community Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, Neb.

Morning Star was born on Nov. 20, 1986, the daughter of Paula Wood. She was the oldest of four children. Morning Star attended school at Walthill Public Schools, and Marty Indian School in Marty, S.D. She gave birth to Kaidence Jenna Rave on Aug. 10, 2004.

She was a devoted mother and auntie. Morning Star enjoyed being around family and friends, laughing, joking and playing pranks. She was known for her laugh, smile and cooking. She always had a caring heart for everyone.

Morning Star is survived by her mother, Paula Arreola of Elk Point, S.D.; daughter, Kaidence Jenna Rave of Sioux City; sisters, Cherokee Wood of Lake Andes, S.D., and Elaina Arreola; and a brother, Dakota Hernandez, both of Sioux City.

Morning Star was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Olive Wood.
