Marbethe Anne Giorgenti, 73, of Sioux City died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at a local hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Marbethe was born in Sioux City on March 31, 1939, the daughter of Robert and Twila (Schooley) Huie. She attended Sioux City Community Schools and graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1957. She later attended Western Iowa Tech Community College and received a degree in medical transcription.

She was united in marriage with Joe Giorgenti on Oct. 27, 1958, in Sioux City. Marbethe worked for many years at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in medical records, retiring in 2005.

She loved sewing, gardening, knitting hats and scarves for her family, and all of her pets. She treasured the time she could spend with all of her loving family. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the SPCA.

She is survived by her husband, Joe, of Sioux City; two sons, Anthony of Sioux City and Robert and his wife, Tuesday, of Sioux City; her daughter, Elizabeth Giorgenti of Correctionville, Iowa; one brother, Robert Huey of Louisiana; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
